My backyard garden bitter melon plants (AKA bitter gourd) are thriving, loving the summer heat. Plant grows vigorously in the summer with beautiful green leaves. Plant grows best vertically, with trellis support for plant to climb. Plant begins to flower within 65 days and all through the season. Fruits are about 6-10 inches long. Best in stir fry with beef. As the name suggests–it tastes bitter.
